Our Services
Often referred to as a therapeutic coach or sober coach, is a trained professional who provides support and guidance to individuals who are in recovery from addiction, struggling with their mental health, and need help getting on track in life.
Our Team
Four Foundations Consulting is owned and operated by Chris Robinson. Chris is a CCAR Certified Recovery Coach, with years of experience within the treatment industry, as well as a therapeutic companion, and safe transporter.
Chris has a passion for helping families, and individuals who have been impacted by substance abuse disorder, and mental health challenges.
As a man in long term sobriety, Chris has his own personal experience with the challenges of finding reputable, quality, long term treatment programming. After experiencing the pitfalls of the treatment industry, Chris put his passion to work to help clients avoid the same pitfalls in their search for the best possible care for their loved one.
Chris is a sober man since 2014. He is a Father, an avid Ju Jitsu practitioner, RYT 200 Yoga Teacher, and credits his sobriety to gathering as many tools for his sobriety toolkit as possible. Chris is also a Mindfulness Teacher, and has taught in treatment centers across Florida, and taken this helpful practice into correctional facilities in the South Florida area.
The goal of Four Foundations Consulting is to help families invest in the best possible treatment plan once, and stay off the merry go round of relapse and return to subpar treatment facilities.
A Recovery Coach
Often referred to as a therapeutic coach or sober coach, is a trained professional who provides support and guidance to individuals who are in recovery from addiction, struggling with their mental health, and need help getting on track in life. The primary goal of a recovery coach is to help people maintain their sobriety, make positive lifestyle changes, and work towards a healthier and more fulfilling life.
Key roles and responsibilities of a recovery coach may include
Support and Accountability
A recovery coach offers emotional support and holds the individual accountable for their recovery goals. They help clients stay committed to their sobriety and encourage them to stay on track.
Goal Setting
Coaches help individuals set and achieve personal recovery goals. These goals might include maintaining abstinence, improving relationships, finding employment, or enhancing overall well-being.
Relapse Prevention
Recovery coaches educate clients about relapse triggers and teach strategies to avoid relapse. They help individuals develop coping skills and healthy alternatives to substance use.
Resource and Referral
Coaches can connect clients to various resources and services, including treatment programs, support groups, therapists, and medical professionals. They may assist in navigating the complex healthcare system.
Advocacy
Recovery coaches often act as advocates for their clients, helping them access the services and support they need. This can include legal assistance, housing, employment opportunities, and more.
Motivation and Inspiration
Coaches provide motivation and inspiration to help clients build self-esteem and self-confidence. They emphasize the benefits of a sober lifestyle and the positive changes it can bring.
Monitoring Progress
Recovery coaches monitor their clients' progress over time, helping them track achievements and adjust their goals as needed.
Licensed Counselors
It’s important to note that recovery coaches are not the same as licensed addiction counselors or therapists. They do not provide clinical therapy or treatment but rather offer peer support and practical guidance based on their own experiences and training. Some recovery coaches may be in recovery themselves, while others may not, but they all have specialized training in addiction recovery support.
What is a sober companion
A sober or therapeutic companion, is an individual who provides support and assistance to someone who is recovering from addiction or struggling with mental health in their lives. The primary role of a therapeutic companion is to help the individual maintain their sobriety, manage their mental health, and navigate the challenges of everyday life.
Here are some key aspects of what a sober companion does:
Accountability: A sober companion helps the person in recovery stay accountable for their sobriety by offering constant support and encouragement.
- Relapse prevention : They assist in identifying triggers and risky situations that could lead to relapse and help the individual develop strategies to avoid them.
- Emotional support : Sobriety can be emotionally challenging, and a sober companion provides a listening ear and emotional support during tough times.
- Assistance with daily routines : They may help with practical tasks like meal planning, exercise, and time management to establish a healthy daily routine.
- Transportation: In some cases, a sober companion may provide transportation to and from support group meetings, therapy sessions, or other recovery-related appointments.
- Encouragement and motivation: Sobriety can be a long and difficult journey, and a sober companion provides motivation and encouragement to help the individual stay on track.
- Accountability reporting: In some cases, they may communicate with the individual's treatment team or family members to provide updates on progress and challenges.
What are sober transports?
Sober transports, also known as sober transportation services, are specialized services designed to safely and professionally transport individuals who are in early recovery from addiction, particularly substance abuse or alcoholism, from one location to another while ensuring they remain sober during the journey. These services are typically utilized when individuals need to travel for various reasons but require assistance to maintain their sobriety and avoid relapse during the trip. Here are some key aspects of sober transports:
Depending on the region and specific circumstances, sober transport services may need to comply with certain regulations and licensing requirements.
It’s important to note that sober transport services are typically used for individuals who have completed a primary phase of addiction treatment and are transitioning to a new environment or situation where they may be at risk of relapse. These services are just one component of a comprehensive addiction recovery plan and are often coordinated with the assistance of addiction treatment professionals.
If you or someone you know is considering sober transport services, it’s essential to research and choose a reputable provider with a track record of professionalism and success in assisting individuals in maintaining their sobriety during transportation.
